Thanksgiving Cutie

It's time for another blog hop with The Angel Company!  Since this is a Fall 'hop' I made a cute card with a couple of techniques.  The majority of the cute little Indian is colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS.  However, the best "skin look" is favored by Copic markers.... so... of course, I had to use them.   However, because I didn't use 'compatible' paper, I had to be very careful so it wouldn't feather.  I also highlighted some areas with my Copics.

I used a discontinued stamp set to stamp the leaves and the "hello fall" saying.  Here's the kicker... I used bleach to stamp some of the leaves (the whiter ones).  How cool is that?  The cute little Thanksgiving darling is from the Thanksgiving Cuties set.  It's the same set I used on my centerpiece project.

Fall Sweetness

Fall is upon us (which is my absolute FAVORITE season) and I just had to make something with my new Thanksgiving Sweeties stamp set from The Angel Company.  It's supposed to be a center-piece for the end table, but I can't use it for that.... because my cats would love it too much.  Anyway, I used the back of a small picture frame (the baseboard with the "stand" attached) and covered it with Winchester paper. 

I then sanded the edges and covered it with glossy Mod Podge.  I sprayed the faux leaves with Sheer Shimmer Spritz (my new best friend) and adhered them with my hot glue gun.  I used crackle accents on the shoes to give them a "weathered" look.  Copics used: YG95, YG97, YR15, YR16, W3, W6, E21, E25, E27, E29. E97, E99.  I also used  Garnet and Pitch Black Copic Spica Glitter Pens (for the hat and bonnet ribbon).

I hope everyone is enjoying this FABULOUS season.  It's gorgeous out here in Wisconsin.  We've had some chilly days, but we've also had 70 degree weather... awesome for Wisconsin.  I'll be back soon with some Halloween Creations!  **HUGS**

Copic Marker Overview

Copic markers have been around for over 25 years and were created in Japan by Too Corporation.  They were originally created for fine art design.  Eventually, they became very popular in the Japanese comic industry (anime).  Copic markers are popular for fashion design, architecture, product design, comic illustration and more.  Most recently, papercrafters around the world discovered these alcohol based markers and fell in love.

Copic alcohol ink is a permanent dye that adheres to almost any surface.  They are actually ethanol based and non-toxic.  Copic markers are the first marker created entirely with the designer in mind.  The ink formula and colors haven't changed since they were first designed over 25 years ago.  Some artisits in Japan have had their same markers for over 25 years, as well.  Body marking are embossed onto the pen so they won't rub off.  Copic markers are environmentally friendly - you never throw them away.

Copic ink is low-odor.  Papercrafters also love Copics because the colors are smooth, vibrant and easibly blendable.  No other marker comes in 334 colors.  No other company guarentees a 3 year self life.  The Super Brush nib found on the Sketch and Ciao markers is very sturdy and will never fray.  If a nib breaks, it can easily be replaced.  Even if the cap is left off, the marker can still be refurbished.
